The 2015 Kia Optima has already been previewed, and is expected to directly compete with Ford’s Mondeo, Volkswagen’s Passat, and Vauxhall’s Insignia with a sharper design, better interior, and a diesel and hybrid trim, writes Jack Prix for Auto Express U.K. This means that the 2015 Optima is among a handful of models that will not introduce a gasoline trim.
According to Kia, the 2015 Optima’s engine trims come on the heels of changing consumer preferences. The company claims that motorists increasingly opt for economical, fuel-efficient, and emission-friendly vehicles due to fuel cost hikes and stricter emission standards being set by authorities.
